It was their last chance to pick a Wicketkeeper, otherwise, they would have to rely on Umer Akmal to keep wickets throughout the whole tournament, minimum of 10 matches even if they don’t make it to the playoffs. And their last pick was a surprising one, wicket keeper Gulraiz Sadaf, who has been playing First class cricket for almost a decade now.

Little master from Kabirwala

Zain Abbas batting against Zim in unofficial test

Zain Abbas is a talented left handed batsman from Kabirwala ( an administrative subdivision, tehsil, of Khanewal District in the Punjab province of Pakistan). He made his FC debut at the age of 20.He soon impressed every one with his attacking approach and flawless technique, his numbers in limited over cricket have always been good.He was part of PAKA team that toured Zimbabwe back in 2016 for two unofficial test and 5 odis and ended up leading run scorer of that tour in only 4 games he played (2 Tests and 2 Odis).Players like Fakhar Zamaan,Shadab Khan,Faheem Ashraf, Saad Ali( who recently toured with Pakistan test squad to England) and Umer Amin were also part of the team. Zain scored 268 runs in 2 tests and  129 runs in 2 Odis he played. After his stupendous performance for PAKA, he was never called to NCA in any camp held for seniors or juniors until recently held camp for emerging players. While returning to Pakistan from Zim,PSL 2016 auction were underway and sadly no team picked the leading run scorer of that, may be no team had their homework done for auctions properly. Zain has an average of 40 in 49 listA games and 30 in 51 T20 games to his name. The lad richly deserves to be picked in PSL now, ideally by his hometown team “Multan Sultans”.
